Benchmark Methodology
Data Collection
The Web Vitals benchmark was created using data from the Chrome User Experience Report (CrUX) available through the BigQuery dataset. For each country, we selected the top 1,000 websites based on their user traffic, ensuring a representative sample of popular websites.
Website Categorization
To provide a more insightful analysis, each website was categorized by industry. This classification was conducted using a combination of AI-driven analysis and manual review to ensure accuracy. Websites containing adult content were excluded from the dataset to maintain relevancy and appropriateness for all audiences.
Analysis Using Speetals
After retrieving and categorizing the top websites, we used our SaaS tool, Speetals, to analyze the 75th percentile values for key Web Vitals metrics for mobile devices.. These metrics are crucial indicators of user experience, providing a detailed view of how each website performs under real-world conditions.
User Experience Rating (UXR)
Websites are ranked using our proprietary User Experience Rating (UXR) scoring system. This system evaluates various Web Vitals metrics to provide a comprehensive score reflecting the overall user experience of each website. You can learn more about the UXR scoring system here.
Handling Categorization Errors
While every effort has been made to categorize websites accurately, errors may still occur due to the complexity and diversity of website content. If you notice any misclassification, please feel free to contact us so we can correct it in future updates.
Data Updates
The Web Vitals benchmarks are updated monthly, reflecting the most recent user experience data. The current rankings are based on data from August 2024. As the dataset evolves, this will allow us to track trends and changes in web performance over time.
